imagine.

March 2, 2012 by mama lola

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

You, you may say
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

You, you may say
I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

– john lennon

i was doing something mundane when i heard this song on the radio. i stopped, listened and sang along with a lump in my throat. have you ever REALLY listened to the lyrics, REALLY? these words are powerful. meaningful.
imagine if we took these words to heart, how different our world would be. oh, what a place that would be.
i wish i had more say in the world. the choices governments and politicians make on my behalf often frustrate me, rather than making me feel confident in them. it is as though, the people in power are only in it for themselves. this deeply saddens me.

sorry for the sad weekend send off…

[ this is what things look at our house, when dog sitting. ]

tomorrow’s post will be happier!
i will fill you in on the blood work bear had done today.

I find myself feeling that way with many songs. We listen to the song but pay no attention to the words. “Imagine” may be one of the best examples out there.

Not sad. Thoughtful, caring, kind, aware.
